. >> in southwest baltimore, a shooting has left one man in critical condition this morning. police were called to the 500 block of coventry road around 12:15 saturday afternoon where officers found the victim with several gunshot wounds. there's no word on a motive. in north baltimore, police are looking into a suspicious death. the body of a man was found inside the car in the 4000 block of buena vista avenue. we are told he'd be shot. >> baltimore county police detectives are in oklahoma waiting to interview the grandson of the elderly couple found murdered in pikesville. he is now named as a suspect in the case. investigators learned last week that 31-year-old matthew long was in oklahoma. long was living with his grandparents, vaughn and pepper, when they were killed, but he was missing when police discovered the couple's bodies on monday. according to police, long is undergoing mental treatment at a hospital in oklahoma. >> we entered mr. long into the international missing person's database. when he was located in oklahoma on september 11, they notified the baltimore county police depart

. the morning commute in new england will be the worst of it. it's a little more scattered towards baltimore, d.c., and baltimore, hit and miss. now as far as the new york city area goes, you can see the heaviest of the rain north of new york up into the hudson valley. driving northward or 95 up into new england or 84 through connecticut, the stead iest rains or heaviest rains, that's good. this is more welcome rain for kansas and north texas through the panhandle through oklahoma. that's pretty isolated at this time. there were some lightening strikes earlier. as far as the forecast goes, we are watching on the eastern seaboard that storm system moving through this morning. this afternoon a lot of it should clear out from d.c., to philly to new york. this morning the rain will be with us. through boston, it will linger. texas, you've got some rain heading your way especially today and tomorrow. that's a look at your national forecast. now you can look at the weather outside your window. >>> so the big story as we head into the upcoming weekend will be that heavy rain that will be developing ov

handlesman, wbal-tv 11 news. >> baltimore detectives are trying to solve a new pair of homicides. officers say 45-year-old anthony kaiser was sitting on the back steps of his house when there was a popping sound outside of his privacy gate. he was taken to johns hopkins with gunshot wounds but died soon after. then after 1:00 this morning, officers found another victim inside a dodge caravan. he was pronounced dead at the scene. we are learning more about the shooting in west baltimore we first brought you on monday. an officer was forced to shoot a robbery suspect after a violent confrontation. two officers were called to the 4200 block of potter street where they found a man who matched the description of a suspected robber. when officers tried to question the man, things spiraled out of control. >> the suspect engaged one of the officers. they got into a physical altercation. he pulled out a weapon. the backup officers saw the suspect withdraw a weapon. he withdrew his service revolver and fired one shot. >> the suspect was taken to the hospital with a bullet wound in his stomach. we're

. ♪ that dirty, old egg-suckin' dog ♪ >> this is wbal-tv 11 news in baltimore. >> good morning. i am stan stovall. fire crews are on the scene of but two-alarm apartment fire in baltimore city. officials were called to the scene at the its own way just before 4:00 this morning. at least seven people, including one child, were taken to area hospitals with injuries, some of them serious. here is sarah caldwell and traffic pulse 11. >> still dealing with problems as you head out for your morning commute. accident at ritchie highway and walton avenue. all of this is volume-related. accident is wrapping up and another one at columbia and vantage point road. heavy volume in the outer loop. another one on southbound 795, slow go towards 29. you can see that the j.f.x. filling up quickly towards ruxton road. live view of traffic on 795 and owings mills, where we're looking at a back up just south of owings mills down to the beltway. >> we're starting off with a little bit of cloud cover we left behind from the big thunderstorms last night. temperatures drop off in the northwest suburbs. 53 in taneytown.
